Lecture: Thomas Cauvin- Public History on Screen

Public history offers opportunities to learn, apply, and communicate research to and through many different media. Based on his experience as teacher, project manager, and documentary film maker, Thomas Cauvin will discuss current international debates on public history, its theories, methodology, and challenges. Cauvin will explore how communication to non-academic audiences and participatory approaches invite to reconsider the overall history-making process. In particular, he will discuss how audio-visual and digital interactive projects can be both extremely engaging public experiences and ways for students to learn and practice public history.
